It’s that time of year. Cosy fires, darker evenings, and intense debates of whether it’s too early. It’s November, it’s so close yet so far. Surely we can’t talk about it yet? There’s never harm in talking about it. We are of course referring to who will win the English Premier League this season.
Will Manchester be blue once more? Will Liverpool recapture the glory days of Klopp? Or will the Gunners finally get over the line and get their first league title in over 20 years?
In this article, we’ll assess who the Irish betting market has down as the frontrunners for who will be crowned as footballing Kings of England.
Manchester City
It was a record year last season for Guaridola’s outfit. Having won a historic double of the Premier League and the Champions League, bookmakers across Ireland fancy the Manchester Blue Moon to do it again.
Spanish midfielder Rodri recently became the first City player to win the Ballon d’Or and a further glance at the teamsheet is oozing with quality from the goal scoring machine of Erlin Haarland to the Belgian midfield maestro that is Kevin de Bruyne.
City aren’t in the best form right now, having recently been dispatched by Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League and Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Perhaps form is temporary and class is permanent, which is why City remain the bookie’s favourites:

Liverpool
Much has been made of Dutchman Arne Slot’s approach to the Liverpool way, and a steady stream of solid performances such as smashing last year’s Bundersleague winners in Bayer Leverkusen, and earning a big win over Premier League rivals Chelsea currently sees them as top of both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
Despite the exodus of Klopp, Liverpool has been able to retain some of its top talent such as Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah. A further look at the squad identifies strength in debt with Luis Díaz, Darwin Núñez, Diego Jota, Cody Gakpo, Alexis Mac Allister, and Trent Alexander-Arnold all part of a star-studded roster for the Reds.
Will the flying Dutchman guide Liverpool to greatness this season? Quite possibly, the Irish bookmakers certainly see it as a real possibility with their odds closing in on the favourites.

Arsenal
The North London outfit are often in the mix but have made a bad habit of faltering away late in the season during the last few years. Squad depth has perhaps been the challenge with the Gunners but last season even the most pessimistic of Arsenal fans were starting to wonder whether their team would return to the glory of 2003/04.
Close but no cigar once again. Ex-player Mikel Arteta has done wonders in how Arsenal play the game but with their talisman Martin Ødegaard now out injured for an extended period, fans are once again beginning to question squad depth on being deep enough to carry Arsenal to glory come the end of the season.
Whilst it’s still early days and by no means over, Arsenal are on a frustrating run of form and it’s cost them having won just 2 of their last games across 6 competitions.
It’s not over yet, but there is no doubt space between the top two favourites and Arsenal with many bookies calling it at 10/3 and above.
