Peter Stapleton was born in Dublin and lives in Blackrock.  He is married to Sarah and they have three school going children – two boys and a girl.

Peter is Managing Director of Lisney.  He was appointed to that position in January 2004 and renewed for a third three-year term in January 2010.  He is a Chartered Surveyor with over thirty-five years commercial property experience at Lisney, particularly in Office Agency and Investment.

Following his appointment as Managing Director, he broadened the business notably in the area of economic and development consultancy, masterplanning, infrastructure, international investment, and more recently recovery services and strategic advice - providing all stakeholders in property with solutions to recover from the economic downturn.

Peter is a Fellow of the Society of Chartered Surveyors and a member of the General Practice Committee.  He is a past member of the Commercial Faculty Board of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute.  He is a founding Director of Clanmil Housing Association Ireland Limited, a registered charity that was established in 2001.  He is a former Council Member of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and currently sits on its Infrastructure Committee.

Peter is a past Chairman of the Junior Organisation (now known as the Young Chartered Surveyors), past Honorary Secretary of SCS, and has previously sat on SCS Council.

In recent months Peter set up a working group to consider improved legislation to assist in the proper working of the property market for the benefit of the Irish economy.  Subsequently, Peter has appeared before the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Enterprise trade and Employment looking into the terms and conditions of commercial leases.

Peter has widespread interests including family life, golf, and sailing.
